Zyfer News
GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Feb 27, 2009 - FEI-Zyfer,
Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Frequency
Electronics (NSDQ:
FEIM)
announced today the
NTPSync II, the latest in FEI-Zyfer’s successful
line of NTPSync Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers.
The NTPSync II is a Stratum-1 standalone network
time server which provides a high-accuracy time
reference to IP networks via the Network Time
Protocol (NTP). The NTPSync II synchronizes systems
that are either NTP or SNTP compatible and uses a
built-in GPS receiver as its reference time source.
The NTPSync II can also be utilized as a precision
1PPS / 10MHz time and frequency reference.
The NTPSync II’s enhanced feature set includes:
- Support
for IPv6 and NTP/SNTP v.4 as well as previous
versions

BNC connectors for 1PPS and 10MHz outputs
- Enhanced
front panel allows for easier system control and
monitoring
- Dual
Ethernet ports as standard
- Front
panel serial console port
- Web-based
configuration and status tool
The NTPSync II
provides trusted time in networks requiring
traceable time, call billing information, data
logging, audit trails and improves methods and
measures taken to prevent network intrusion. The
NTPSync II system is designed to support precise
time and frequency requirements for LAN, WAN, and
MAN networks, and for critical applications like the
FAA's Traffic Control Network and other high-value
computer network infrastructures.

Frequency Electronics Awarded Contract From State of
California for Secure Communication Synchronization
Systems
GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Oct. 6, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)
-- FEI-Zyfer, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Frequency Electronics (NasdaqGM:FEIM
- News),
was recently awarded a contract by the State of
California to provide AccuSync Lite(tm)
GPS-disciplined Time and Frequency References for
use in the California Highway Patrol VHF low band
simulcast radio system. The contract, valued at
approximately $3 million, enables the state,
counties and municipalities to issue purchase orders
for multiple systems as needed over the next three
years. The first purchase order for approximately
$1.2 million was recently issued under this
contract.
The AccuSync Lite(tm) will be deployed in low band
simulcast base stations throughout California. The
timing signal extracted by the GPS Receiver in the
AccuSync Lite(tm) will provide a common timing
reference, which is used to generate high precision,
secure 10 MHz outputs. The 10 MHz outputs are used
to stabilize the final low band carrier frequency
for broadcast.
``The AccuSync Lite(tm) demonstrates our continuing
commitment to meet the needs of the Homeland
Security/Public Safety Sector,'' said Steve Strang,
President of FEI-Zyfer. ``Our investment in research
and development on modular systems and our ability
to customize products to include the exact set of
features required to meet our customer's security
and communication objectives while keeping costs
within budget constraints enables us to win these
contracts. In January of 2008, we successfully
completed a $1.2 million contract for the delivery
of CommSync II Time and Frequency Reference systems
to the County of Orange, Sheriff Department. These
systems are currently being deployed throughout the
County, and will be used in the County's upgraded
800 MHz simulcast public safety system. We expect
the Homeland Security/Public Safety Sector to offer
significant opportunities for growth of our core
business, particularly as government entities
modernize the critical portions of their
communication systems as necessary to meet local and
regional interoperability requirements.''

These FEI-Zyfer systems provide critical signal
synchronization and frequency references to a
flexible communication infrastructure tailored to
specific needs and deployed world-wide.
The order requires delivery of multiple systems over
a two month period. These FEI-Zyfer standard
synchronization systems conform to the government's
Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) criteria. The
Company was able to deliver over 50% of the order
within a week of receipt.
According to Steven Strang, President of FEI-Zyfer,
``We are particularly pleased with this contract as
it validates the use of our newly upgraded design as
a precision time and frequency reference within
satellite network infrastructure.''
