Sales Manager


Job Requirements:

The applicant MUST have the following qualifications:

1. Demonstrated ability to manage sales staff, to develop new business and increase sales consistent with the company’s business plan, revenue and profit targets, to select and report on those opportunities that are viable and of interest to the company, and to coordinate company response for those opportunities which management chooses to pursue.

2. Demonstrated ability and knowledge to perform technical sales of board and system level products, and the ability to direct, manage and support the efforts of manufacturer’s representatives, international distributors, and direct sales staff.

3. Excellent English language skills, including the capability to communicate with all parties orally and in writing, to prepare formal proposals and quotations, to prepare reports, and to make technical presentations to FEI-Zyfer’s standards.

4. Ability to coordinate and work with other departments within the company that are involved in the marketing and sales process, and to provide timely and accurate near-term and long-term forecasting to support our engineering, manufacturing and other efforts.

5. Detailed functional knowledge of government terms and conditions of contract (e.g., Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), ability to review, accept and negotiate terms and conditions
of sale / purchase orders and contracts.

6. Detailed functional knowledge of Export Regulations, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and requirements for compliance, requirements for Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) export licensing and registration.

7. Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain Representations and Certifications, including On-Line Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), maintain a Central Contractor Registration (CCR), negotiate General Services Administration contracts and contract modifications, and maintain a GSA published price list.

8. Demonstrated ability to generate, negotiate and accept terms and conditions for contractual documents, including reciprocal Proprietary Rights Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, etc.

9. Detailed functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2007 or later (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.) Working knowledge of Visual Enterprise Modules (Engineering/Manufacturing, Inventory, Sales and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)).

10. Ability and availability to travel as required for trade shows, customer site visits, and training and support of manufacturer’s representatives and distributors.

11. Bachelor of Science in relevant field and 10-15 years cumulative experience in nationwide sales and marketing of board, system-level, and/or time and frequency reference products with one or more companies in a related market.

12. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

The WANTS for this position are:

1. National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Certification.

2. Detailed functional knowledge of Microsoft Project (2007 or later).

3. Familiarity with skills required for Program Management (for simple / minor projects and programs we undertake.)

4. Ability to generate Marketing Requirements Documents and Customer Requirements Documents, to perform trade studies in support of MRD’s, and the ability to generate white papers for use in the trade press, sales to organizations, and sales to specific customers for specific applications, etc.

5. Ability to assist with the development of marketing collateral materials, including datasheets and advertisements.

Brief Description of Job duties:

1. Manage sales staff, develop new business opportunities and increase sales consistent with the company’s business plan, revenue and profit targets.

2. Perform technical sales and training, and direct, manage and support the efforts of our international distributors and manufacturer’s representatives.

3. Prepare formal proposals, quotations, forecasts and reports as required.

4. Review, accept and negotiate terms and conditions of sale, contract and other legal agreements as required.

5. Determine requirements for and maintain compliance with export regulations, ITAR and DDTC licensing and registration.
